Not sure exactly what it was called but was looking through a parts mag and wanted to know about those auto fan switch gizmos that you install and it kicks your fan on at 200 and off at 185 but I was curious if I could use this on an otherwise stock 89 coolant system with the 195 thermostat and not have problems?

The days are getting warmer and I plan on putting alot of miles on this thing Wink and figured since I'll be pushing it a bit more I'd like for it to run cooler (its a DD so I see alot of stop and go traffic as well). Would it be wise to switch to a 185 thermostat as well? The coolant system works pretty good on my vette fortunatly but I'd like to improve it first since engine mods will be trickling in throughout the summer and with A/C on a super hot day I figure it would just be extra insurance.

Thanks Smile.

I  dont live in a climate like you do, here; we do add lower temp. devices to start the cooling process sooner and allow them to run longer....its not un-natural to see 130* pavement heat with 4000% humidity during morning traffic, and higher during noon and 5pm. traffic.

Running cooler earlier and longer is survival.

Putting lower temp devices are great here, but where you live are you prepared to remove them during winter time?
Our winter *might* get into the 30's for a couple of weeks...I dont even run anti-freeze, just water with a product called "Water Wetter", and a silicone additive to lubricate....this is a must for my C3.
