I used a shop vac and long hose to get between the AC and the radiator.  Pulled out a mouse nest and solved my overheating problems.  I had spent money on radiator flush and water wetter to bring the temps down from 240 and it was the shop vac that did the trick!!  No need to take the shroud off-  there's a hole in the side big enough to get the nozzle in (on the '93s at least!).

I have discovered that I now drive around plastics and other bags and things in the road. :)

I agree with the last poster. A screen solved the issue for the dirt accumulation. Mine runs steady at 180 and goes up
only during the oppressive Florida heat in the summer accompanied with stop and go traffic. Thumbs Up

I use one of those 'Swiffer' dusters with the extended handle...fits nicely in the gap in the shroud. I use it every oil change and yes, leaves and grass will stick to it. A flattened Sonic Route 44 cup is an entirely different animal, tho'. Ermm

It is SO NICE to know I'm not the only person experiencing this problem! Thank you all for the info!

I covered the lower opening with black plastic window screen. Custom cut and installed. Works great. No overheating in Florida summers.

I had same problem after pulling radiator( PITA) I installed black plastic mesh that was left over from gutter gards that were put on my house. Same as a screen only a bigger mesh.
