Ok so I have a 1990 convertible that the cooling fans aren't working right so I find where it says to touch the top right 2 terminals together( with a paper clip ) under the steering wheel dash area (some sort of usb) to see if the secondary fan comes on cause the primary does. When I do this now the car wont turn over at all so did I blow a fuse or something else? im not for sure so im asking for some help here from those of you that know corvettes prolly much better than I. Also when I took the bose factory stereo out now the battery drains overnight and wont start so some input is greatly appreciated here also and as you can tell this is my first Vette so im a newbie at this sort of stuff with a small amount of mechanical ability and have posted on here before with a lot of good replies and thanks to all for the input to point me in the right direction. Any and all info is greatly appreciated cause I thought I had the battery situation fixed but it has returned.
    Thanks from BillyDee

Definitely start by checking ALL of the fuses in the side panel. Can't see a fuse keeping it from cranking, tho.
Perhaps the battery is just not up to par?
Disconnecting the stereo head can sometimes cause a drain on the battery.....it keeps the amp relays energized, I believe.
The secondary/aux cooling fan is not supposed to come on until the engine temps gets above 225 or so, or unless the A/C is on. Thumbs Up

I will check the fuses sounds like a good place to start also with the battery drain you said disconnecting the stereo causes it to energize the relays how do I check on this cause I am putting a new stereo in (aftermarket) and the battery hasn't held charge since. Im not sure where the relays are located or what to disconnect so it doesn't keep draining the battery. I do appreciate the suggestion and hopefully I can find out the causes so I can pass this info to another...Thanks again for your help

I believe that the battery is just dead due to the constant drain from the stereo being unplugged so, the car wont crank. I have charged the battery and now it starts so thanks for the suggestion but please tell me what to do about the constant drain from what I believe you said energizing the relays. How would I approach this situation. Everyone is very helpful with suggestions and avenues to attack and I thank you for that.

I'm new to Vettes and from what I have learned so far is that the Boss system has a relay type box that everything runs through and that will drain your battery if you do a radio switch out.  That box has to be disconnected to prevent that from occurring.  Check out Corvette Central where they cut up a vette and they discuss this box in one of their videos .

To see if your coolant fans work you can ground the relays.  There are 2 of them found on the left side of the radiator shroud.  There are 5 wires coming out of each relay.  With the connector plugged in and key on the primary fan relay wire is light blue w. black and the secondary is dark blue w. white.  Ground them one at a time and the corresponding fan will come on.  (if they work)
