Ever since I bought my 85 corvette ( 3 years ago ) the cruise control has not worked. I have checked the fuse and it is fine. When I try to activate it nothing happens. No lite on the dash comes on or anything at all.  I am wondering if anyone else has had the same issue? If any body has any suggestions... please post and let me know. Thanks, Brian

You might check that all vacuum line are not leaking and also the vacuum disconnect switch at the pedal is correctly adjusted. Mine was the problem with my non-op cruise...good luck with it.

Thank you for the  information.  I will look into the vacuum lines this weekend. Spoke with others about the cruise control, and they had the same comments as you.  Just found this this out yesterday. Thanks for responding!

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be electrical.

About the same time the center console cigarette lighter quit working which turned out to be a bad ground (the hot lead was OK). I jumpered the lighter ground directly and the lighter and cruise control started working again, so at least one common ground point had gone open.  I have not had time to investigate further and I did not notice anything else not working at that time.

I have considered running a separate ground wire and tie several of the existing grounds to it, because I have had multiple ground problems over the years. Wonder if anyone else has tried this?

Hope this helps.
