Hi everyone, I'm finally getting around to pulling my drivetrain this winter. The carrier bearing on my 4+3 overdrive went bad, so this winter, my '84 is being treated to a rebuilt engine and trans. My question is: what have you done to your '84, and what recommendations would you make? Here is what I want to accomplish: More horsepower Runs on pump gas Looks stock Keep CrossFire injection Reliability With that in mind, what are some good modifications? Anyone have first hand experience with the Renegade intake manifold? I see mixed reviews. I was thinking about doing the renegade with rebuilt and bored TBI's, an '85 fuel pump, and true dual exhaust with Borla mufflers. I have also read that the stock ''84 heads are junk. What heads would you recommend? Is replacing the heads necessary with the other modifications above, or will the stock heads be fine? FYI, I have neither the time or the talent to rebuild the engine myself. A friend who owns his own shop is doing the work. Thanks in advance for the replies.
