what are your opinions about the crossfire?  i was told that gm used all of the parts from later 82c3  is this true. just about everyone that i have talked to said the crossfire was a big mistake that gm ever did in a vette.  in your opinion was it a mistake...........

The "crossfire" looked very impressive  because of the dual throttle bodies at first glance when you raised the hood.....however the stock intake itself was very-very restrictive (small ports) flow wise. The stock heads were so-so back then...though not much by todays standards.

I don't know that it was the worst thing GM ever did to the Vette...but considering the evolution from the C4 ZR1 & LT4...to todays C6 ZR1...IMO the crossfire was certainly not a high point for the Vette or GM. Considering GM started out with the "Blue Flame" six... the Crossfire is just another part of Vette history....Wink    JMO

Evolution .......... Evolution........Evolution
A mistake?...... maybe, but lots of them still around and running.
Enjoy what you have; and the part of the evolution you are preserving.

Well, if it is a mistake, then I say make more mistakes! Wink I've had our '84 a couple of years already and it is a great driver. Sure later models have more power. But this one is still fun to kick around a twisty road.
