I have a 1988 corvette with basically stock engine, except for a miniram intake and aftermarket exhaust.
I installed the miniram simply because the orig TPI intake made doing any maint. on the L98 engine difficult.
The TPI had several air leaks, which made it run rough and half the time when I pulled up to a stop light, it would die.
When I put the miniram on, it solved all the problems of air leaks and dieing at stop lights. Not to mention something as simple as changing a thermostat became........simple and quick.
I plan on putting headers on next.
I only use the corvette for highly spirited driving through mountain roads.
I don't want to have to use premium gasoline. Regular gasoline is hard enough to pay for.
So what mods to the motor would be reccommended to take advantage of the miniram intake?
I don't want such a big cam and heads that I would need premium gasoline.
Don't get me wrong.
The miniram made my corvette so much easier to live with; that even if I can't install bigger cam and heads, it was worth the cost, even if I do nothing more than add headers/exhaust.
But if I can leverage the benifits of the miniram; and hop the engine up more, while still useing regular gasoline, then I would like to do so.
