I recently got deep into the motor and I've never misplaced so many tools in my life.
. Spent too much time hunting!
You can think what you like, I'm calling it focused on the job at hand. One of the problems is no place to put anything (need a carb tray) so got to thinking how to make use of the holes in the fuel rails.
The magnetic tray was on sale for 10 bucks so not much to invest. M6 screws sit pretty well in the holes, 1/4" are too big. Making the stands came (like other good ideas) when I should have been sleeping... use M6 threaded inserts in (1/2" aluminum) tubing! Works great. I made cardboard template punching the rail holes and transferred to the tray to place the upper bolts.
I cut mine 6" long but 4" might be a better height. May cut mine down or make intermediate level with single round one. It will rock slightly but bolts in the fuel rails are long enough to keep it from tipping over. Rail holes are oddly spaced which is why the tray is turned but puts a lip closer to where you are bending anyway. Now I lose fewer tools if I can remember to put them in the tray.
