Sorry for the confusion, it is a hydraulic roller lifter and there is a keeper to stop it from spinning in the hole. My only choice was to install it with the oil hole to the front or rear of the car. The problem I was experiencing was the lifter would not pump up. I optioned to just change out the single lifter and put the rebuild off till I have another car. We are sharing cars now. Thanks for the review and question.
