You are not the Lone Ranger, Tonto. I do have two C4's, hence the user nane. I hae a '91 Convertible that I enter into local car shows, and a '93 Anniversary Issue as a daily driver.

Lookss like your second Vette is in excelent shape. Congrats. No big deal, your wheels are on backward.Thumbs Up

I'm no expert on early C4's, but they look correct to me.  Thumbs Up

Wheels are right (correct). Almost had a fistfight at a tire shop over that one. That sort of thing stays in the memory even at my age!

With both styles of rear ends shown in the picture I still say I'm still partial to the earlier.

I actually prefer the earlier rear end, as well.  But, my husband prefers the later one, so there's something in the garage for each of us LOL.

Very nice looking.  The PO must have taken care of it.  According to the 1984 Corvette brochure, your wheels are on correct with the sawblades the correct angle.  See page 2 and 3:

It looks like about 1991 that the sawblades started pointing the other way.

Enjoy!

It's been interesting reading the discussion about the wheels.  I recognize right away when a later C4's saw blades are on backwards, but I hadn't thought these were.  However, not being an expert by any means, I figured I'd just see what came up, especially since I it wasn't something that would affect the driveability of the car.  Of course, I think they look puuurdy either way.  Wink

Pretty car. With red, black, and white making up almost 60% of total production of 40,000 85's the other colors aren't very prolific. Most are in the 1000-1500 units range. Like gold and two-tone blue.

If you get in a "fight" with a tire shop regarding wheel installation, read the back side of the wheel. Cast right into the center is "Install Right / Left Side Only". Really hard to miss. The spokes "grab" the ground. There's a discussion by Jerry Palmer about which direction is correct in one of the coffee table books about the development of the C4.
