I have a '96 collectors edition with 11,000 miles on it. I just purchased new Goodyear Eagle F-1 GS tires. I had them balanced and mounted on a set of GM original rims that I found on Ebay. The original tires/wheels are now being stored indoors. When I was going to have a wheel alignment and the print out said the right front was off somewhat so I drove the car first and it drove straight. The specs would change the alignment. Are the specs for the original tires Goodyear GSC's. I don't know if I should do the alignment to try to make it perfect or leave it alone. In Jan 2014 the car is going for the NCRS PV certification and I have to take my hands off the wheel during the test. Any info out there???????

I realize that some time has past since this was posted on the 'new tires' but in answer to your question, are the specs for the Goodyear GSC's ?  Actually that part for an alignment doesn't matter. As long as tires on the vehicle are the tires that will be used after any alignment change is corrected.
As far as the vehicle driving straight, alignment angles can be offset as to still allow the vehicle to drive straight but could still cause tire wear in excess.
Alignment spec are normally preset up in the spec charts figuring a drivers weight of 175 to 200 pounds. (not meaning that a person has to be in the vehicle while the alignment is done) If the driver is lighter or heaver by much more than 25 or so pounds I use to adjust the specs just a little be to offset any weight differences, giving what is called a ''specialized'' or ''personalize'' alignment.
I could go into deeper details but my suggestion would be to worry more about being able to find an alignment specialist that cares about their work and will do you a correct alignment on you vehicle, setting the alignment to the ''preferred specs'' and not leaving the alignment alone just because it may be within spec tolerances include setting the toe angle off of both front side instead of just one side like a lot of so call alignment people do. Camber, caster and toe settings are adjustable but the steering axis inclination and the turning radius angles are usually not adjustable but use an alignment specialist that has a good reputation and you should be alright.
