What brand of spark plugs should I put in my 85?  Is there a better option to stock?   My car has 50K miles and I believe the plugs are original. Thanks for your feed back.

You'll get 10 responses, with prolly 10 different opinions...it's kinda like "which oil is best?". LOL
My personal preference is to always use A/Delco plugs in GM vehicles....no need for anything fancy, like platinum, or anything like that. Unless you are heavily modifying the engine, there's absolutely no advantage in using anything other than what the factory engineers called for.
Thass my story, and I'm stickin wid it....Wink

Thanks for the information. We put some special 100K mile plugs in my sons 2001 Chevy Camaro so I was thinking I might want to use them in the Corvette.  It looks like it may be a fun job.

Not really all that bad....easier than changing them on my '74....Ouch
The only "hard" one to get to on my '85 is the pass side rear....it's a little sneaky.

I have something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Wellforce-Professional-Sidewinder-wrench-Knurled/dp/B006N0Z8GM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1414842781&sr=8-1&keywords=sidewinder+ratchet

I have yet to try it on the Vette but I bought it to use on my old T-Bird.  It had one plug that was impossible to get to with a ratchet.  This lets you spin the socket using the T-Handle instead of swinging the whole wrench.  I'm also planning on doing the plugs soon in my 86 and already know where my tool is, in case needed.

I use AC-Delco Rapidfire plugs, I also change the plugs at 25,000 mile intervals.  They are probably as good as anything else for these cars.  I like the torture of changing them!!!  I have the factory Aluminum heads, so I take my time and am very careful when installing the new plugs.  Very easy to cross thread from what I have read on this forum and others.  There are two difficult plugs on the 86' TPI.  The passenger side rear and the front plugs.  Not impossible though, just have to have an assortment of extensions and flex joints and patience and it's a done deal.  Always thread the new plugs in by hand as much as possible.
