So, I bought this 2012 Mustang to beat to death as a daily driver. Actually a pretty nice low mileage car but the polished aluminum wheels were black with brake dust in no time. I put Hawks on my Vette but I decided to try EBC's on this one.

The pads come with a red deglazing compound right on the face of the pads. Looks a little coarse but works really well with some light braking to deglaze and condition the rotors. Bite seems much better than the Ford OEM's and are quiet. Too soon to comment on the dust but they are supposed to be low.

If your rotors are in decent shape, I'd give EBC a try. www.ebcbrakes.com (although I got mine through Summit).

I have used the Yellowstuff EBC pads on my 1986 C4 which I use in SCCA Time Trial Events. Very impressed with the bite and overall performance.  Many laps at some demanding tracks with no fade - if they can do that - you will never have an issue on the street.  Nice thing is the Yellowstuff pads are designed as both a street & track pad. They do perform better as they get warm, but still have excellent bite when cold.  Have not tried the Greenstuff, but overall EBC makes some great brake pads.

I've put some miles on the pads and my impression is...

- pads are very rotor friendly. Even face with no grooves anywhere.
- no squeeks, squeels or rattles.
- bite, is very good, smooth and consistent -  even on cold rotors
- brake dust is black and lots of it, my only complaint. Good news its not greasy and removes with paper towel but needs constant attention to keep the wheels clean.

Solution: Black wheels!
