Based on a request on another thread, (AUX, switch) I am attaching this write up for a
cheap and easy antenna bypass switch.  Since I usually use an i-pod or the CD, I'm not
worried about reception.  But since the antenna goes up and down all the time, and we
know how much fun it is to repace either the mast or ribbon, this seemed like a useful mod.

This applies to 93-96 models but if you find the appropiate wire for earlier cars, it should
apply.  The picture should help.  I am not the author, I found this on another forum a few
years ago and saved it, so the credit goes to them.  Clap    Anyway, hope this helps.

I installed a switch (buy almost anywhere, e.g. Radio Shack).
Your actual radio receiver is located in the storage compartment behind the
passenger seat.

1.Open the right rear storage compartment lid and remove the plastic tray.
2.Locate the Bose amp relay attached to the wire harness. (Should be on the
bottom side, and protected with a styrofoam encasing) See picture below.
3.There will be two dark green wires. One wire comes from the receiver box and
goes to the antenna. Measure back about two inches from the relay and cut
the pink wire in 1993 cars (or dark green wire in 1994-96) that goes to the antenna.
The relay that you are looking for is in the foam holder for the jack. The wire that
you need to cut is going to be dark green. Make sure you cut the right one. There
are two dark green wires coming from one connection, you need to cut the one
going to the antenna (It should head off in the direction of the coax cable).Put
a switch on it to make the antenna turn on and off and you will be in business.

You can see the relay inbedded in the styrofoam. This would be looking straight
down into the compartment (remember to take the plastic tray out first). That piece
of styrofoam also holds the jack.

You should have 3 orange wires, one black wire, and two green wires coming out
of the relay. The green wire is the one you want, as shown in the picture. You can
see I spliced in 2 red wires. These 2 red wires are then routed back to the switch.
You can place the switch wherever is is easiest for you. I put mine in the knee bolster
on drivers side. Out of site, but still easy to get to when needed.
