My 1988 convertible AC/Heater blower motor/fan made a soft squealing sound the other day which could be the beginning of a failed blower motor or fan problem.  If this develops into a failed blower motor/fan, how difficult is it to replace the fan blower motor?  The FSM says to remove the side panel behind the right front wheel well and remove the wiring connectors and bolts that hold the motor in place to the heater/AC housing.  This looks too easy for a corvette repair.  Is there a catch or issue that is not mentioned that could complicate this replacement?  Please advise if anyone has experience with this blower replacement or repair.  I appreciate any inputs to this so I can be prepared if the blower motor/fan needs to be replaced.

I just replaced the one in my 85 Coupe and it was just that simple.  Just be sure to notice that the ground connector is attached to the old motor and on the new one I got I had to reuse it as the new one didn't come with it.  Otherwise pretty plug and play.  Also, I had so much junk in the motor housing I had to dig it all out, leaves and pinestraw, even compacted up around the AC cooling fins which I had to use my phone camera to see it all.  Just don't bend the fins.
