Hi everybody!
New member would like to know if anybody can tell something about Calloway badge in my Vette. My -87 convertible has oval shaped riveted badge whit stampings: Calloway GM 164. The badge is located under the hood left side of the Corvette Bowling Green badge. And yes, it really reads Calloway not Callaway. Is it some kind of dealer badge or what? Any ideas? Confused

I see you are in Finland....is the car an export car? It could be that the badge is from the importing company....

Yes, i am from Finland but the car was imported from Virginia to Finland . Last NMVTIS markings ,title and registration, are made 08/14/03 in Virginia. So i dont think that the badge is some kind of export badge.Confused

doubleblack87, can you get a good picture of the RPO/Service parts label from the center console lid, or one of the rear compartment doors?

Hello friends and thank you for your intrest of this Calloway badge case. Today i found another same kind of badge inside of the convertible top deck lid. Does any anybody else have this kind of badges in their Vette`s?  Because, if mine is numbered 164. someone else has to have numbers before and after 164?? Here are the pictures of the second badge and the RPO/service label /member_uploads/26201_26300/26239/ZZF5E_101_3302.jpg/member_uploads/26201_26300/26239/35Z9D_101_3308.jpg

Could it be - The tag looks like there has been a cut out made in the fibreglass to mount it, which may mean it was installed at the factory, so was it GM Employee 164's ( Mr or Mrs Calloway ) own personal build car.
There is a County just down the road from Bowling Green called Calloway County Kentucky, maybe a Chevrolet Dealer in the County ordered the car for personal transport.

And good luck with the solution to your puzzle. Keep us in the loop!

Contact the NCM and see if they can help you solve the mystery. You could also post this on a few of the large Corvette sites.

Contact a lady named Betty, I do not know her last name but she is in charge of archives at the museum. I have corresponded with her a few times in regards to my vette and she is the best help you can get. Hope that helps. Harold

It is NOT a Callaway Twin Turbo car. It does not have the B2K option on the RPO list, plus the Callway badges were different. The Callaway cars had badges, and ID plates ALL OVER them.
And...I doubt the Callaway would have managed to send out a car with his name misspelled.
I think what you have is simply a tag from the importer.
Since the car was imported long after it's build date, I doubt that the NCM would have any info pertaining to that. It's definitely worth a shot, tho....there could be some other interesting info about it that is not on the RPO label. Thumbs Up

I understand that this is not a twin-turbo car. I have no idea what the little badge is, but I'm inclined to agree with those that have suggested it may have something to do with the exportation or importation of the car to Finland. It was added after the car was built, the hood badge is NOT "recessed" into the glass. It looks that way, but it is not. The discovery of the second badge under the convertible deck lends credence to it being added after the car was built.

Adam:  Not all Callaway twin turbos have option B2K. B2K is on Corvettes that were shipped directly from Bowling Green to Callaway.  BUT Callaway also converted NEW (for liability reasons) Corvettes shipped to them from a Dealer, after the car had been delivered to the Dealer.  The conversion was then performed, and billed directly to the Dealer. Again, not all Callaways are B2K's.

As an aside, NCRS will only accept Callaway Corvettes for Flight Judging if they have option B2K. A Dealer-Ordered and shipped car that was converted doesn't meet the Judging Standard of "Built by Chevrolet, and equipped at the time of Judging exclusive of any owner, or dealer inspired additions, deletions, or changes". Ie, The Calloway conversion was "added" by the dealer, not part of the OEM specifications and equipment. If it doesn't have B2K, It wasn't ordered through GM as a Calloway.
