Hi,
I have a 1990 L98 Corvette and would like to remove the air pump/smog system as it seems to me as the system does not really contribute to anything else than less space in the engine compartment. Engine control does however give alarm if removed. Any tips in how to fix this?

Too many emission/computer related components to remove....unless of course you are planning on a full engine and tranny resto sans electronics of any sort.

85 corvette, I've completely De-smogged the entire engine compartment, Air pump gone exhaust manifold capped off, all hoses piping, valves removed. Also disconnected the EGR valve. I will remove the EGR down the road if and when the intake is removed.

I'm looking for options to deal with ECM related issues related to fuel ratio's etc..

WHO can recommend next step? I just want the engine to run as efficiently as possible with out the 20lbs of garbage weighing it down,
