The security system in my 1984 Vette can’t be disabled by unlocking the driver-side door. However, it can be disabled by unlocking the passenger door. I’m pretty sure this is a result of the security wire that attaches to the driver-side door lock going bad or has become detached. Is there a way to disable the security system until I can get the wire replaced? I won’t be able to dig behind the door panel until spring and unlocking the passenger side first is a hassle... Any ideas..?

If you lock the doors by using the sliding levers, rather than the push buttons, the alarm will not be activated.  Unlocking the doors with your key will be the same.

Cool
