Hello all, I live in Staten Island N.Y. during a trip to NJ shore in July I was on the Garden State parkway, nice parkway to drive on, anyway I punched the gas pedal went to 100mph and my service engine lite came on, the engine felt like it was running on 7 cylinders I pulled off parkway checked under hood for loose ignition wire removed gas cap shut motor off to reset everything was fine to the naked eye. I made it to my destination 20miles north of Atlantic city, 12 hours later started car lite was still on.After10 minutes of driving the light went out, read the codes and came up as misfire & stuck injector. If anyone has had a similar problem and would share some advice I would appreciate all the help. I want to tune up the car so I started with simple things PVC, fuel filter(what a pain), I want to change Plugs and wires, I would like to install AC delco platinum spark plugs and good wires any experience with ac plugs let me know........  Thank you Nick

First get a copy of the FSM (both volumes).  If the code shows a stuck injector try testing the resistance on them first; they're easier to get to then the plugs.  If you do decide to change plugs/wired amke sure you get the same diameter wires as OEM.  While there are many who opt for bigger wires (8.5mm) these can be a real pain to thread through the wire looms.   I agree the GSP is a nice road but I prefer the Merit Parkway for a little more spirited driving.jrzvette2009-12-11 18:16:36

Stuck injector?
What were the codes, specifically? I can't say that I've ever seen one that actually said "PXXX -Injector stuck", but I guess it would depend on the type of scammer/method used to retrieve the code, and that manufacturer's description of the code.
Since the LT1/LT4 is a sequential fire system, the mis-fire code would point to the specific cylinder to check, as far as infector diagnosis. Checking the resistance would be the place to start.
It's possible that when you nailed it, something got lodged in the infector pintle, and created the miss/code. When under heavy throttle, the infectors will usually go to "wide open" and stay there, instead of pulsing....this may have allowed some garbage to get under the pintle, and keep it from seating properly.
Just a theory...
