OK all you C4 Veterns, I plan on replacing the weatherstrip on my rear hatch window opening. Any tips? Any recommendations on who has the best material? What special tools required? There are several available that I have found in different price ranges from OEM parts to "replica". If anyone has changed the seal (weatherstrip) I would appreciate any help.

I've used the Willcox before. Suggest you leave it out in the sun before installation, softens it up considerably.

Fittament can be an issue, especailly in the corners. They tear very easily. The best fitting ones seem to be the OEM but be warned, they are pricey. If I do it again, it will be OEM.
No special tools needed but suggest you get some weatherstrip removal from 3M, works very well to get the original "yellow" gunk they put in channel off. Unhook strutts at window, prop up with board and have at it.

I replaced mine a hunnert years ago, with GM, and it is still in great condition. Install is fairly straightforward, but, as jimmymac mentioned, get some 3M adhesive remover to help get the old, dried up glue off, and clean the grooves well. Use some good painter's tape to hold it down all the way around for a few hours, until the glue sets well. Be careful closing the rear glass the first few times...if you slam it down, it could break the glass. Just let the glass lay against the weatherstrip, then push down on the latch area to latch it. I say this because SOME of the strut out there may not work like they did when they were new, and may allow the glass to come down a little too quick.

In reference to Adams comment, I found it a good time to replace my struts too.

Well removed and replaced the weatherseal for my coupes hatch today. Just want to thank all for their "tips". I used "goo gone" (as I had it in the house) instead of adhesive remover agent. Does an excellent job. Job took about 1 hour and the hardest part was installing the prop rod end clips.
