A couple of square feet of chicken wire mesh out of Home Depot, some black spray paint, and some mounting screws.

yep. it was scratched and cracked up. Looked pretty rough, I had a buddy of mine (A Photographer) take some photos it really showed the defects in the air dam, so replacing mine became a necessity. I have no problems with over heating but the old one just had to go. I do like the way you solved your problem though but I think I will stick to the regular maintenance thing for awhile. However I will have to start looking for some material to do that too. Maybe a winter project.......
