I'm getting ready to replace the convertible top and the weatherstripping on my '89 vette. I came across a company that has all the weatherstrip pieces I want but have never heard of these guys. The supplier is Lonestar Car Parts out of Texas, link to the product is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1986-96-Corvette-Convertible-Weatherstrip-Kit-10-Pieces_W0QQitemZ190370590450QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2c52f8aef2
Many years ago, I did a few restorations and bought non-OEM weatherstripping that turned out to be poor quality and fit. These days, it seems to me all the C4 weatherstripping on the market is non-OEM because of the age (I'm just not sure)

Any info or advice is much appreciated, Dave

Their Logo looks exactly like Lone Star Calipers...I wonder if it's the same folks? If it is, they are stand up people.
They've got 100% positive feedback...that looks pretty good.

All I can add is; some aftermarket vendors have very bad fitting items....even some of the well known vendors have these same fitment problems with weather-stripping.

I have been lucky the weather-strips I have replaced on my C3 and C4 only required a little bit of trimming....I did return one set, the vendor knows me, got me another set that was slightly better.

Its a roll of the dice; but whats a person to do?....gotta have it.

When they get to your house, scrutinize the items carefully, then decide if the item can be used....if not; send them back, if so; get to work!!!

i bought the c4 seats for my c3 from them and maybe something else. the seats were shipped quick and were in perfect condition as they stated.i know i bought the weatherstripping from ebay but cant remember from who. they were perfect fits. the guy that's fixing my vette has one almost the same as mine (his is an 89 and a convertible tho). he was amazed how great they fit. he bought the a pillar gasket from somewhere and he said the fit was lousy. it's as jim said, sometimes it is hit or miss. IMO, lonestar deserves the 100% feedback they have, so that may be a help if you order from them.

Jim's advice is dead on...my vote would be to check out Willcox.  Prices are resonable and the quality is outstanding.
I made the mistake of using one of the big Corvette parts houses before for the rear hatch weatherstrip, fitament sucked and lasted less than a year before corners were ripped.  Can't speak to Lonestar.

What he said-  I bought Willcox weatherstripping (7 piece Vert kit) and it fit perfectly. Price was very competitive too.

As a follow-up on this subject.... the weatherstripping kit from Lonestar has held up beautifully for 1.5 years now on my '89 convertible. In Ohio we get the full range of temeratures from -20 "burrrr" to 100 "ahhhh" degrees. The fit and seal remains perfect, no signs of any wear and all of it is nice and supple just like new. It's good to have options with recommendations like Wilcox and Lonestar
