Does anyne know of a manufacturer that makes the L-shaped weatherstripping that goes on the sides of the dash, and seals up against the doors? I believe ths would be for 84-89 cars.
I have checked with both Soff Seal and Metro, with no luck.
Thanks...
Rod

I bought a 10-piece weatherstrip kit from Lonestar Car Parts about 2 years ago. I did a lot of research before making the purchase because there's so much junk out there. The kit I bought was excellent in both material and proper fit, and cheaper than Mid America, Ecklers and Corvette Central. When I talked to them on the phone they said all their weatherstripping is made in the USA
Their site is
These are the instructions they include http://www.lonestarcarparts.com/Shop/Control/fp/SFV/32306/view_page/Weather_Strip_Installation_Instructions
Also, you might be interested in this article. It covers replacing weatherstripping and convertible tops. I liked the way it's written and has lots of tips and tricks
Good luck with your project (for me it always 1 down and 99 more to go)

Zips has a terrific reputation too. I haven't bought anything from Zips but have always heard very positive things about them. That's the great thing about our forum, you get to learn from other peoples experiences and knowledge

another thing is like ecklers they charge you for quicker processing where zips doesn't plus they are cheaper too. they also have a blog that you can get some info on things like adjusting windows etc.

I bought the 7 piece weatherstrip from Lonestar Car Parts. The A pillar weatherstrip only last for 6 month. Finally I bought one made of latex from Ecklers.Has been installed for 6 month witout problems.

wish I'd known sooner, I was in San Juan a few months ago and could have hiked over to Guaynabo to check it out.

How long ago did you install them ? When I did mine a few years ago, the doors and windows were very tight and it took a good month to settle in and find their "happy spot"
