has anyone installed the drains in the body rear around the hatch. i guess these keep the water from running down the sides after a rain or washing.  is it a good thing to put them in ,or just leave it alone and put up with the water, that just sits there in the hatch and body just out side the seal.

Did it a few years ago, IIRC got them from Mid-America.  Use a stepped drill, tape up next to pillar so you don't accidently hit it with side of drill.  Not hard, works great.  Painted brass ends of drain body color, can't tell they are there.

SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 CE Coupe
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're going to go the NCRS route anything that is not exactly the way the car came down the assembly line will cost you points.

btw - I have a set of the drains and will be installing them soon.  I hate the splash of water that comes out when closing the hatch after a rain or a wash.

Smile norsky, i know what you mean. i hate the water tooooooo. this judgeing thing is nerve racking. i would think if anything that inproves the design of the car like the water drains shouldn't matter, to a judge. gm should of put the drains in when they designed the car. just like the fule door drain. it needs to be improved to. i don't understand why the enginers don't think of these simple things.  well i have bought the drains and i'm going to install them once it gets judged.  mean while i just put up with the water running down the sides and going all over when you shut the hatch.  Disapprove

You can buy a turkey baster and use that to remove water after you wash it or it rains.

Wish someone would had reminded me when I had it all apart to do the Dynamat! It doesn't see water often but I've done like the big bad wolf and three little pigs more than once only to have to wipe it off the side once the world stops spinning!
