I just purchased a new cover from Auto Armor on E-Bay. It is a 5 layer cover that is really waterproof and does breath. I have no connection to this seller but am impressed. It fits well but doesn't fit like a glove and is not pretty like the big $$$ ones but works great. We had 20" snow a week ago and 1 " of rain last weekend and the car is dry. My Targa top leaks a bit and there is now no moisture inside the car. I paid about $55.00 and shipping. Money well spent.

Sounds like a great deal, thanks for sharing.
I have one from Corvette America (The Wall) and I would also recommend it, but your price sure beats it. Nice to know there is some more quality product out there for a decent price.

They have a video showing how water proof it actually is on their E-Bay page too.
Good to know, Lew. I think I will give it a try on my 1984. A custom NOAH cover would be nice but the $$ is over $200. My old cover is letting and keeping water next to the finish and need something quick. We got that same 20" or so of snow too.

Well worth the money for sure. I looked at some custom covers with emblems and mirror pockets but in todays economy I couldn't do it.

thanks for the tip. my 90 was just repainted and almost finished. will need a cover for it as my 75 claimed the garage first
. hope it is ok against the car as i have heard some nightmare stories on how some covers ruined the finish.

I only hope the cover is gentle. It looks like it is. They claim it is soft but anything on the finish is more than I want on there. We don't have a garage so this is the next option.

We just got our cover a few days ago. So far so good. We had our first rain yesterday and no problems so far. It's a little big but I didn't expect a custom fit.

I have always had covers...two things I learned:
1--always use a strap to hold it on at the bottom of the car.
2--I quit buying the expensive water-proof covers.
1--always use a strap to hold it on at the bottom of the car.
1--A--I live in south Louisiana...we have "pop-corn showers" always, not too mention hurricanes, fall and winter storms, March winds, ect.......I hate finding the cover in the yard, wet, and holding water like a deflated kids swimming pool.
The covers have side grommets and I use them....unless the weather/winds is decent.
I have many toys so I am used to having covers strapped (its not a big deal to do).
I have a carport with two sides exposed (rear and driver), with a strap the cover may come undone, but stay on the car and not in the mud or rain.
2--I quit buying the expensive water-proof covers.
2--A--I had to, ONLY reason; stray cats...I cant kill them, and I cant stop them from thinking my boat cover, car cover, and boat seats are scratching pads...think what you want; the city even sets a trap at my house and get 7 to 11 a year. Very aggravating situation, and please dont write anything about shooting or killing the cats, even if that was the case, more would come anyway.
Something to think about....after a year lf a car cover life, its time to think how to clean dadgum thing....unless the car is in a garage where wind cannot blow dust under the car, the *inner linder*
gets dirty, if you dont have it strapped and the wind blows it off; the *Inner liner* gets dirty.
If the wind blows it off during a storm and ends up in the yard, wet, dirty, or muddy:
How do you clean it, or do you just throw it away?
An example:
I had an expensive 5 layer, water proof on my C3 (all my vettes are black), I had the car covered, in a carport with one opening, this carport was orginally for a bus and had two 10x20 canvas garages with 4 walls inside the bus carport.....sounds great right?
Nope, the floor was refurbished highway cement material. The fact that there was two structures over the car and a $140. car cover on the car would make ya think all was OK...fact is; the wind could still bow debris under the cover and everytime the cover moves from the wind comes small scratches.
I am NOT anti-car cover.....no, no, no, I love taking the cover off of a car and the car is clean.
I just havent figured a way to own any cover more more than a year and it serves the purpose.
Have you ever un-covered your boat and find chicken bones, dead snakes, cat fur, and evidence of naughty cat sex in your boat?
