Not really clear on the "will not open door, just moves back/forth"... Need more info, please?

Yes the actuator does not move the door . you can not get factory blend doors any more all aftermarket  so not sure about voltage is right for the aftermarket actuator I have checked the door and no issues moves freely  so Iam at a lost  chevy dealer said it could be a wire harness issue  I dont buy it any way at this point because everthing works as it should.

I'm a little dense, I guess...lol I'm still not sure. Does the actuator not move at all, or are you saying it doesn't have the power to move the door, even tho the door will move freely? If the actuator will move in/out without the door connected, and the door is not binding, then there is without question a problem with the actuator, whether it be not getting enough voltage(from the controller) to operate properly, or an internal issue with the servo motor of the actuator. I don't know off-hand what voltage the actuator is designed to operate with. I can check Monday to see if the wiring diagrams have any good info. I don't think I have diagrams for a '96 here at the house....but I'll look.

The actuator not installed on the door with power just moves back and fouth  does not make a full cycle of movement to open the door if it was installed so I think it is not getting the right voltage Iam at a lost please let me know what you find. Thanks again

Ah ha! NOW I unnerstand! So it just kinda bounces in/out a little bit, but doesn't extend/retract completely as it should. Gotcha! I'll look tomorrow and see if I can determine what voltage controls the actuator, and where the source is...probably the climate head, but possibly the BCM. I'll see what I can find. It's possible there is a "relearn" procedure that needs to be done for the door position before it will work....not sure. 👍

Blend door actuator("motor") runs off of 8 volts, direct from the programmer. The troubleshooting info suggests that you must wait AT LEAST a full minute to verify the door moves. Here's the wiring and troubleshooting info.
