I have read several articles about "Water Wetter" with pros and cons. Has anyone used Water Wetter, by Red Line, and have you seen a lowering of engine operating temperature. Several articles just indicated they added 1 bottle of Water Wetter to their coolant system overfill tank (already containing 50/50 mix of anti-freeze) and after mixing while driving it has lowered their engine coolant temp by 20 degrees as indicated by gauge and digital read out. Is there really any truth to that. What say my C4 colleagues who actually operate these vehicles, any user results?

I've never heard anything bad about using it. However, there is a coolant that I can't think of the name that uses no water, provides better cooling, and never has to be replaced. It's about $40 per gallon but it is a true lifetime coolant. Totally inert and is great for multi-metal situations such as aluminum and iron and brass.
My opinion is that you can indeed lower the temps too much. Using incorrect thermostats or other modifications to lower temps just to lower temps will affect performance and efficiency.
If you are experiencing overheating then there's a problem. 220 degrees to 240 degrees is not overheating. On a 100 degree day 240 is not too hot with the a/c running. Just my opinion.
If it isn't broke, I haven't fixed it yet....

I've used it on all my cars & it works ...... maybe not 20 deg. but I'll say 10 to 15 deg.

40 Deg. Below works a lil better , with using that I've got a 20 deg. Drop from normal operating temp .......It's hard for me to find now . Another thing to try ,They sell it @ Like a Peterbilt ,Kenworth ,or Freight Liner Service shop ......I just can't think of the name . But Big rigs have a huge cooling system.... This stuff comes in a pint or quart but it is a Water Wetter same as deal , The guys in the parts dept could help you with finding it I'm sure ......It works great in my Peterbilt 
Thanks for the several positive comments on Water Wetter. I just read a review on the "internet" that a guy flushed his coolant system, added coolant and 1 bottle of Water Wetter. Shortly after that he noticed some brownish sludge (sewer like was the wording) and oily deposits in the coolant recovery tank and after removing the surge tank pressure cap. Reviewer thought maybe the Water Wetter caused a chemical reaction in the system causing the brownish sludge. Anybody experience anything like this after adding Water Wetter? Now I am a bit alarmed about using it. Comments please....

I've never noticed that.... Mine seems to be the same ole color , Though I think there is something in it that helps lubricate the Water pump & keep the thermostat from from seizing @ the closed position . I'll share this with you My C4 never sees over 195 deg. unless it's a really hot day & I'm stuck in Traffic then the highest it gets 224 - 226 deg.
My suspicion is that the brown sludge is the result of the green anti-freeze being mixed with Dex-Cool somewhere along the line. I had it in mine when I bought it, pulled out the knock sensors and really flushed the radiator, block and tanks out (took about 4 flushes). Cleaned recovery and plastic tank, put in the green anti-freeze and have never had the problem since. That being said, the lesson is you can't mix the two. I could have put Dex-Cool in after the flush and it would have been fine. but it came with the green stuff and since my degree is not chemical engineering, I assume the factory guys know more than I do and stayed with the green antifreeze.

My vette was overheating on the highway. At 65 it would get to 235 degrees. I flushed the coolant and added water wetter to the 50-50 mix, but while i was waiting for some of the flushing compound to drain I stuck my shop vac nozzle between the radiator and the AC condenser. I didnt suck out a mouse nest, I got a mouse Mansion!!
Well, I never again had an overheating problem. But I attribute that to cleaning tons of nesting material out of the space between the radiator and the AC!! The water wetter mixed with green Prestone has been in there for 2 years and I've had no problems with it.

I have looked at that stuff on the shelf at summit then put it back if you want your corvette to run cooler flush the system & I mean FLUSH it the plugs on the block come out and anti size them when they go back in & always start with the air flow the coils may look clean but if you cant shine a light thru the A/C coil and see it thru the Rad. its plugged up then if your serious & I am ! in my 85 it now has a 160 tstat. & a 170 fan switch and I only have water in my system (drag strips don't like anti-freeze) and my 85 runs170 to 160 with the A/C on @ 95 ambient I havnt seen 200 in years the only thing in a bottle I have added as a cure all fix has gone in the gas tank and as far as octane booster the only thing it boosted was there bank account now why is cam 2 8 bucks a gallon OHH that's right its for off road use only HE-HE !
