within the last month when i closed my door, the o/s rearview mirror would go out of adjustment. no one i talked to knew of any adjustment to tighten them up. as most know the car was repainted last year after being hit and some idiot scratched the drivers door deep enough that it cracked the paint and we had to repaint the top half of door. had the mirror off the car and was trying to see any type of adjustment.

i found that the screws holding the motor were loose and tightened them up but glas was still wobbily (tech term). when i was at the body shop reinstalling the mirror i went to the donor car to see if i could spot anything different that might cause the problem.

i found the problem pretty quickly. there is a piece of white metal that looks like a plus sign (+). horizontal arms clip into the mirror back and vertical ones clip on the motor. one of the vertical arms on mine broke. switched it with one from the donor and problem was fixed.

hope this might help anyone with the same problem.
