I recently bought an 85 C4, ran great for the first week. Started cutting out while driving, and giving me a code 33 (MAF sensor). I replaced the MAF sensor, reset ECM but code 33 comes back. I've been trying to hook up my scanner but can't get it to receive a connection. I've cleaned the ALDL connector with brake cleaner but didn't help. Today I started getting a code 24 (speed sensor) and a code 33. Is there a way I could check if the ALDL terminal E is working ?

If it isn't, what is my next step?

I got your PM, and responded.
Check the MAF burn-off relay first. If there is a problem with that relay, it could kill the serial data, as well as set the MAF code.

Thank you for your response.
I'm using A Dell lap top with TOAD software as a scanner, and yes I jumped terminals A & B to get the codes. The 85's has a burn off module under the ECM, rather than a relay. I believe a relay is built into the module. I suspected the burn off module before I ever tried the scanner, but a module is around $250 and I wanted to confirm before throwing money at the problem. I didn't know signal to terminal E came from that.
