Cup holder?
My '85 doesn't have an aux. plug, as far as I know. Would be nice to have one, tho, so I could charge a phone AND run the Radar defector at the same time...

I read in my owners manual that there is one...but the cup holder area is taken by the two cup holders.
I do have a lighter and two cup holders in that slot...I just never did undo the console to see exactly what the manual was getting at.
Was kinda afraid they might have a pic of Joel in there....

Don't know about a pic, but I may have left a fingerprint or two on a few of them....

So...is this an extra ciggy lighter thingy, or an extra power wire/connector under the console?

I really dont know what it is...the manual said there is an "auxiliary" power something or other there.
I just kinda took it as there was a red-n-black connection there ready to be set up for any type of auxiliary power....either a direct red-n-black connection, or wires ready to hook another cig lighter connection that produces power for any components except an actual cig lighter.
<----<<more scarier??? LOL

Extra power wire connector...one hot wire (orange), one ground (black), one ignition only hot wire (pink black). Nice to have the option. Often thought about making a acc. port (like the lighter plug)on the dash somewhere, just been too scared to rip up the face of something to install it. Did up/down toggle switch for antenna, but hid that by knee bolster.

Good info in red
I'd like to see a brief write-up and some pics of what I put in bold (separate thread made).
I did it on my L-82 as seen below (disguised as a NOS switch)...cool and clean
.
I want to do it on the 96...but I want a clean install and know exactly what wires to splice.
I think I speak for all if you would take the time and get some pics and written explanation.
Maybe we can get Joel to send you some big bucks if its a good write-up...
Thanks Jimmy!

No thanks needed, I'm just passing on what others have done. Hell, what little I know, I gleaned for someone else's efforts. We help each other out in any way we can. I posted a thread, hope it was what you were looking for. I really like that NOS switch, that is
. I may steal that and redo placement on mine.

It would be interesting to know what year they included the aux power wire. My 1990 didn't have it. My 1995 does and from previous post, so does the1996. Check your owners manual and let us know about the 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994 model years.
