My 1988 coupe will, at apparently random points, behave as if the battery has been disconnected.
This has happened only when I go to start it. It will have been running fine for days or weeks, and then nothing... no interior lights nothing....

When I apply a booster to it the car starts and runs immediately.
The battery registers full charge on the testers, the terminals are good and tight, and all circuits appear to be functioning normally (no fuse issues).
The battery is new and a "high end" type.

The starter is new.

The alternator is new.

The vehicle will continue to run normally for a period of time (days /weeks) and then does it again.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on and/or where I should be looking?

I HATE it when that happens!
Battery connections are tight, you say, but..did ya check the ground at the frame, or the positive cable on the starter? It sounds like a bad connection somewhere....nothing major, it would seem. Boosting it would give it more "ooomph" to overcome any resistance in a connection. I would start looking at the ground cable from the battery to the frame/engine, then go to the positive cable at the starter.

Did you CLEAN the cable ends as you installed the new battery?

Vette(s): 1991 steel blue roadster, blue interior, loaded. Auto, ZR1 wheels, magnaflow exhaust extensive refurbishing going on, cosmetics and underhood.
we had a miniscule crack in a cable ending at the ground terminal box ...did the same thing!
I had exactly the same fault with my 84 about 12 months ago,
Cable at frame was nackered.
a quick fix was to clean up a bit of the frame - cut the end of the cable away from the frame and then fit it to a temporary earth strap (you should get one for very little from a DIY shop) I ran mine like that for a few months just to make sure - then drilled the frame out and mounted it properly.
Works like a charm
Phil.
