Thanks for the info on how the headlight motors shut off. I have checked the service manual and it outlines only removal and replacemant of the entire motor. I plan to disassemble the motors and replace the bushings but as my daily driver I didn't want to take it apart then wait to order parts if I could get a sence of the problem first. The running of the motors on fog lights only may be related to the same wear on the motor stops. My wife's ship just left to spend several months in Hati so I have her car to use for a while as I explore this problem. Will keep you posted .  Dave
