Found lots of info on pre LT1 digital dash problems. Nothing on LT1 and LT4. My center LCD is slowly growing dimmer and dimmer. Can't read it in bright sunlight anymore.

The analog Tach on the left and all the analog gauges on the right work fine. Just the orangeish LCD part with he speedo and fuel gauge.
Can these be repaired, DIY fix, or do they need to be replaced. I've checked the back lights.
Someone suggested I pull my DIC and clean it. I don't know what personal hygiene has to do with a digital dash. But, I tried it and it didn't work! (The LCD)

But they couldn't even give me a ballpark estimate.
Just like to be loaded before I go bear hunting.
Thanks, Dave

If it is the actual LCD that is damaged, those are pretty expensive. If there is a connection, or other issue, but the LCD is good, the repairs are fairly reasonable. They have to know what is wrong first. The older, "Star Wars" displays can be fixed for around $200 these days....I would suspect the newer ones, with only the one LCD to fret with, would be in the same range, unless the display itself is damaged.
