Your car will have a security/anti-theft system. That will keep it from starting.
Your car did not have any of these parts, and you're buying replacements?
I would suggest also checking all of you fuses, and the battery connections. Electrical problems can be a real pain to find, and fix.
If you have access to, or can, you should get the car "scanned" with a scanner to see if there are any codes in the computer systems. That would help to diagnose it. If you cannot get a scanner in your area, you can jumper two terminal on the diagnostic connector, and watch for the "Check Engine" light to flash. There is another thread here that explains how to do this.

Personally; I would have ALL components in place to accurately diagnose any problem.
Even if the car starts; all components are needed to finish making sure its road-worthy.
Some things you wont be able to go around to short-cut drive-ability problems.
