I have an 84 vette, and while replacing the hood release cables I had a wire come disconnected. One end of the wire is connected to the coil at the same point as the tach filter wire. I have looked everywhere and can not find where this wire goes. Would appreciate any and all help. Thanks, Mike

Well, there should only be one wire connected there, for the tach. The tach filter is on the same wire, tho, so they may have piggy-backed it from that connection. I'm assuming it is a white wire? If it is white, that is the tach filter wire, and it also works the tach itself, thru the cluster module. The tach filter is normally attached to one of the bellhousing bolts in that area...see if you can follow the harness down.
Is this wire just hanging there, and not attached at either end? Could it be some aftermarket stuff?
Can ya get a pic?
Does the tach work?

yes the tach works fine, I am just puzzled why there would have been 2 wires off the same connection when it should have only 1. The extra wire is black. I have disconnected the extra wire, it must of been some sort of after market item. They wire I quess was hanging down the back of the engine, because when I went to remove the old hood release cable it came loose. Don't know about being able to get a picture.
