Vette(s): Red 1986 Corvette convertible

Hi.

Does anyone know an easy way to gain access to the tail lights of a 86 Corvette Convertible? I looked at videos on youtube and my arm will not fit to change lights.  I want to replace the tail lights with LED. Also does any one know if 86 Vette have key fobs? Would appreciate any help on this.

Thanks,

It seems fairly easy. I'll try it this weekend.

Thanks!

Never mind the license plate route...you have to have thin little kid's arms to get in there, and long arms at that! Jack up the rear and pull the wheels off, you'll appreciate the clearance! Remove the inner wheel tub screws (Torx), remove the bumper cover bolts underneath on lip of bumper. You now can gentle pull back the edge of the bumper, as well as fold back the wheel tub slightly, and it will allow you to lie on your back, reach up and change bulbs, remove the assembly, and so on. Your skin on your arm will love you!
