Last night, My 88 convertable left turn signal stopped working. Lights come on but do not flash. Right side seems to be ok, and I think that the 4 way flasher is also working.
As the bulbs are lighting up on the left side, do you think this is the flasher not working? Bad ground maybe? or is it maybe a bad bulb?
Guess I am going to have to go and start pulling bulbs........... any ideas that might save me some troubles?

Sounds like your flasher unit.  Usually a sign when the lights do come on but now don't flash.

Are all of the left lights the same brightness? If one is dimmer than the others, it could certainly be a ground problem. The flasher usually either works or it don't. Can't see it working for one side, but not the other. It's worth a shot to change it, tho. Could be a bulb just not grounding properly....

First thanks for the replies....it is much appreciated.

OK; so I went and on closer observation I see that the front turn bulb is on, but a lot dimmer than the right side when I run it. So took the left front turn bulb out and replaced it (2057 amber) and now the left turn is working just fine.  Maybe it was the bulb, although the one that came out looks not too bad, or maybe with my playing around taking it in and out I reestablished the ground......no way of knowing for sure; but at this point it works so I will keep on driving it until the problem rears it ugly head once more.

Here's a tip to store away for future troubleshooting: A very common symptom of a bad ground at a front bulb is that the green turn arrow in the cluster will be illuminated with the park or headlights on. This is true for any GM with incandescent cluster indicator bulbs from 68-up.
