Vette(s): 1990 coupe
Hey people, im having problems with my 1990 coupe. The wipers have a mind of their own. They turn on and work fine, but wont turn off when they should. Sometimes( not often, )they will shut down straight away, but mostly they shut off when they want. Could be 100 or more wipes, not good on a dry screen. Any suggestions?.

I have the same problem with my 85 vette.  I searched all over for a new wiper switch. I finally found one in New York City. The vender was asking $380.00! I did not opt for the switch for that price.  I then found a re-conditioned switch for $180.00.  This did not correct the problem, in fact it is much worse!!! So until you and I can get some answers to this very frustrating problem... I will only take my car for a ride in nice weather, with 0 chance of rain.  The only way for the wipers to shut off sometimes, is to shut the engine off.  I live on the shores of Lake Erie, and well we get a lot of rain & snow!!! I feel your pain!  I have actually almost drained the wiper fluid tank, just to keep the blades wet until I could get home. Lets hope for a solution from someone!

Try the wiper motor internally (Auto Electrician) & or the earth to it
