1993 Coupe LT1
The fuel pump turns on and the engine turns over but will not start.
I placed a jumper on the A-B terminals on the ALCL but no codes (except 12) were displayed.
I removed the jumper and the engine started.
I have had this issue in the past but it was always when the engine was hot. I would try the engine 3 -4 times and it would start or i would let it sit for about 15 minutes and then it would start.
Looking for suggestions.

I would suggest checking fuel pressure first. Just because you can hear the pump running doesn't always mean it's getting fuel to the front.
I would also want to check for spark at the plug(s). Then, if I had fuel, and spark, it should run, unless the cam timing is off(timing chain).
Most of the earlier GM ECMs would not store a code once the key is turned off. Try starting the car a few times, then leave the key on, and jumper the connector, and see if it brings up any codes that way.

Had a similar problem with mine that came and went. Finally gave up and took it to the dealer. Turned out to be the starter and starter wiring. (Mostly wiring I think) The heat of the engine had pretty much cooked the wiring and the connectors making it work eratically, and once hot it would turn up till it got progressively worse and then it was just like yours, wouldn't even start the next day. So I replaced the starter and the wiring and so far (Knock on wood) no more trouble.

i would also check the ignition module. in the early years of electronic ignition if it went bad that was it and car wouldnt start. in the updated ones they can work intermittently thus people would think it is ok. just a thought.
