Those stock head lamps just are not bright enough for me. What kind are the stock ones, halogen? Anyone gone with xenon lamps? Like to know what any of you have replaced yours with. BTW, for a '96 C.E. I've seen some on Amazon, they are blue halo xenon, but I don't want anything remotely ricey.
Speaking of which, I saw some poor soul driving a little cavalier today with a big wing on the rear.....made out of 2x4 and plywood. Like I said, I want brighter headlamps, nothing ricey. Thanks fellers.

Were they sealed beams or the ones with the new housings with the xenon bulbs? And....did they just plug into the existing harness? Seen some with a ballast you have to tyrap off. Thanks, by the way.
The original headlights were plastic, halogen, sealed beams. Whatever you put in, you want cheap a$$ plastic, as the headlight door drives are not engineered to handle the weight of glass. I bought a pair of Indian made, replaceable bulb units about 5 years ago on eBay. They have been satisfactory. Couldn't see spending $60+ for a pair of the original, 1980s technology units.

I need to ask, Are most of the C4s sold new with the plastic headlamps?. I have seen Hella brand rectangular fixtures that have the removable lamps. The Hella fixtures are made from leaded glass. The beam from these Hella's have better optics and are a lot better than the OE's There are all sort of halogen lamps for sale to fit them. H4 55/100 for instance although this could use a relay, the OE wires will eventually burn up. I would like to have a pair of lamps that were used in France with a yellow envelope. They are just as bright and they look a whole lot cooler than the blue lamps that blind me. The color of any lamp is not as important as the watt and candle power. The optional lamps are in motorcycle and NAPA whole store catalogs
Actually came to check out if anyone had posted regarding head light bulks. Seems like anything I need to know about keeping up my Corvette can be found here. Plus, if I can't find it all I need to do is ask and you all are very helpful.
Love you guys!
Love my C4!
