1.6 Rocker Arms

I'd been toying with the idea for a while.  Sooo I ordered them online and did the install this past week end. Made a really nice SOP improvement on my stock cammed LT1. The springs are LT4s and only had a few thousand miles on them, so I left the valve springs alone. If any one's looking for a easy week end "bolt on" project for some noticeable HP gains....This is a good one!

Glad to hear it went ok, and you were able to tell a difference! Changing the rocker ratios is the easiest way to get a little more effective lift out of the cam, without actually changing the cam.

Glad to hear you can tell a little bit of difference with them alone. I want to do the whole hot cam thing (heads and all) on my '96 but just can't muster all the $$$ up at one time. I may go ahead and do this and the springs to keep me pacified for a while. Thanks Thumbs Up

One thing to watch for when changing rocker ratios is spring bind...it can happen. Since 96LT1 has already changed the springs, his will prolly be good to go, but stock springs can coil-bind if the rocker ratio is increased very much over stock. When you change/raise the ratio, it moves the valves farther down into the cylinder, and if the springs can't handle the extra lift, they will bind up, basically making a solid chunk of metal...this can bend/break pushrods, rockers, and rocker studs, as well as hammer the crap out of the cam and lifters.
Going up to a 1.6 ratio shouldn't be an issue on most small blocks, tho. Ya just gotta watch the rpms...
