With the IAC counts moving up/down by that much, you should see a corresponding drop/rise in the idle speed. The IAC is a "stepper", meaning it moves a step at a time, sorta like a ratchet...click-click-click..
It's possible that while the key was on, the ECM commanded the IAC closed, and the dang thing just got stuck there.
When you change it out, make sure there is not a lot of doo-doo caked up in the passage on the throttle body. Also, check the service manual for info on how to "set" the IAC before installing it, so the pintle isn't sticking out too far. If it is, screwing the IAC in could damage the seat.

good news. changed the IAC today and the 90 is up and running again. as soon as i pulled it out you could see it was the culprit as it was extended way to far plus you could see it wasn't seated right by the marks on it.
one thing is for sure, i won't be leaving the key on for any extended period of time anymore.
