Anyone have any experience with a product called friction shield? I believe its made by dupont and not only does it claim to reduce engine wear, but decrease your operating temprature.  I've never been a fan of additives but this product looks interesting..  Has anyone used it?

I googled it and got this  http://www.frictionshield.com/ My first impression would be if it was that hot a product, other car owners would be all over the web singing it's praises.  That being said, any product that reduces friction is probably a good thing but I'd sure like to see some documentation that backs claims.  When I was a young hot rodder, STP and Marvel Mystery Oil was the rage.  And depending on age of engine and wear, it might make clearances on cranks and cams worse.  So, buyer beware.  Of course this is just an opinion, so I could be way off base. 

there was another product out like this a few years ago. was expensive a heck but right this minute cant remember the name.of course now it is being sold very cheap. i used it and it had just about the same claims this one does but cant really say i noticed a difference. was never really a fan of additives and have always changed my oil every 3000 miles and never had any trouble from excessive wear. a lot of my vehiches had over 200,000 mi when i got rid of them.

as soon as i saw your user name i remembered. stuff used to be something like 59.99 a quart. now you can get it for newer cars and one for high mileage cars and sometimes with a bottle of transmission additive too a lot cheaper.

If this product was as good as it claimed the factories would install it at new, what does that tell you.
