Ive done alot of research on the tpi setups ,mini rams super rams and just haven't been satisified with the outcome of these intakes ..so.. i was wondering about a dual 4 carbed intake setup change from a tpi setup? anybody have any info cause im not driving my  1990 convertible vette alot therefore im not to worried about ecenomy as much as performance. It just seems the tpi is very restricted and the mods help but only so much and the amount of money  spent i could do a carbed setup with better outcome.
1990 corvette convertible 350 tpi alum.heads 4sp auto posi trac .The car runs good but i have to replace the intake gaskets ..so..while im in there might as well replace the intake setup as well .I was thinking a low rise setup with 2 oh i don't know 600's or 650's but my concern is going from fuel injected to carbed .Just looking for some good opinoin's and thanks again to all for the great input and remember THE VETTES GETS THEM WET

Only reason I can think of to go 2X4 carbreueted is to get "why the hell did you do that?" comments when you raise the hood.With no other changes, you'll have a lot less torque than the TPI. Automatic l98's generally have 2.73 axle ratios, you need all the torque you can produce to get that 3,900lb (w/ 2 passenger and gas) pig moving with 2.73's.

There can be no plenum volume at all if this is going to fit under the hood, so this is going to essentially be an Independent Runner induction system. IR systems are great in max-effort Pro-Stock type engines that produce power in very high RPM ranges. And they still require a runner length that puts the carbs about 18" from the head ports. Ie, tunnel ram intakes.

You have a lot more research to conduct. 2X4 induction will destroy the enjoyment and drivability (and value) of what you have now. Definitely a step back into the stone-age.

billydee, i have to agree with Dave. you could improve on the tpi to get more power. and stay in the emission laws.

my TPI was was costly and always giveing trouble then when I went to a 500 HP higher rpm motor and after several intake & carb mods I wound up cutting the hood and useing an eldebrock RPM air gap ,holley 750 double pumper ( $500.00 carb)  with a tremic 5 speed & 3:07 grears it goes 11.00 and my mileage is 25 on the freeway the car in stock trim is just that STOCK
