I have a 1986 that I use as daily driver ( except for winter). I saw a MAT sensor Reloacting Kit in one of the part catalogs I get. The write claims that the sensors location subjects it to a great deal of heat and can cause a loss of power due to incorrect readings. The kit allows you to move the sensor to an area where it will read cool ambient air tempatures. Does any one have any experience with this? If so where in engine did you relocate it to?

The sensor is moved to the air intake hose/coupler in front of the throttle body. In that location, it gets a better reading of the actual intake air temp, and it will be a little cooler than it is in it's current location on the intake, where it gets pretty danged hot.. The cooler reading will enable the ECM to change the fuel and ignition controls to allow a little more hp. It's not really something that you might notice on the seat-o-the-pants dyno, but it does help.

I too have installed the MAT relocating kit on my 1991. Not much has been seen as performance, but I know it is helping. I located it in the air intake between the air filter and throttle body.
Thanks for the info!
