I don't want to rain on your sale. But, in good conscience I must pass this along. Don't ever, never buy a used tire over 4 years old even if it has never been used. The spare on my '92 never saw the light of day except for occational pressure checks and cleaning. I kept it in a black garbage bag on the car to keep it clean. Old pick-up truck trick. Last year I took it down to check the pressure. It had literally exploded. This tire was never on the car. Zero miles.

This may be true, but some people may want to buy for resto purposes and not daily driving, and having a correct date coded part is judged heavily.

I believe Dave was making the point that the tires are not safe for driving...I also believe he worded his advice "short".

Lets be pleasant and respectful when offering advice...lets also try to be clear and take the time to type advice that doesnt read as "offensive" or "disrespecting" the original poster...on any subject.
