Vette(s): 2002 Blue Conv.
I am looking for $12k or reasonable offer!

1991 Corvette Coupe. I bought this car back on March 31st 1998 from a friend while living in Colorado. It was white when I bought it and had almost 100k miles then. Since then I have moved many times to Kentucky and Illinois and the body has 178,734 miles now. During this time I have not been afraid to spend money on it! Many things have happened to this Vette over the years and here is its story…….

As I moved from Colorado to Kentucky I had an accident as I arrived in Lexington, Ky. Small but it started the transformation. Basically I cut the front bumper cover and bent the removable support bar. Seeing the accident was not my fault I used the insurance check to buy a Shinoda-Mears body kit($2495) in 1999. I also bought a new support bar. I left the car white on top and all the added on parts were flat black. Finally I decided it was time to paint it in the spring of 2002. I also bought a custom hood scoop and had it blended into original hood. I paid $1979 for the Dupont Chromeillusion paint plus $2500 to have it sprayed by a Corvette restorer. In reality it has some chips in the paint and could use some panels resprayed or airbrushed to repair. I also added the European Taillight kit for $299 and replaced all the door and windshield rubbers at that time(they are still in great shape). I also added a REESE trailer hitch to tow a Corvette liquor trailer I was building(but that is another story).

Between 2002 and 2007 I drove it some and the mileage climbed to 178,734 where it is now. In 2007 the engine was tired so I pulled for a 383 rebuild project. Just before I pulled the engine I had done new brakes all around with drilled/slotted rotors, hawk pads, new rear wheel bearings and half shaft universal joints. While the engine was out I was deployed to Iraq. Well approx $8k later we had the finished product. Here is what we did. It has a K & N air filter, BBK 52mm throttle body, TPIS miniram, AFR eliminator heads, FIC fuel injectors, Comp Cam, Milodon 4 bolt mains, original block all machined to accept forged internals and all balanced too! New water pump and starter. I also added TPIS headers, and complete 3 inch exhaust system. So at this point I came back from Iraq and installed the engine on the mounts and had Pete K from the Corvette forums get me a billet torque convertor and had a local shop rebuild the transmission with upgraded parts and drum. I also bought NOS front upper/lower control arms with ball joints and outer tie rod ends. So remember all these items are new with no miles on them. The engine has only had 2 hrs of break in time at this point and does it sound evil. So after I got transmission attached to engine I got orders to go to Kuwait for a year(I had only been home 4 months). So anyway when I came home from Kuwait I was transferred to Illinois where I finished the assembly. This Vette has been off the road since the spring of 2007. It is not currently registered or insured.
Also while doing the final assembly here in Illinois I completely removed the interior and changed it from grey to black. I also Dynamatted the whole thing.

Over the years I have also done many other things to this Vette. Dr Don rebuilt the factory CD/tape radio, I replaced speakers and amps. Had instrument cluster out for rebuild. A/C converted to R134a. I have a stack of receipts almost 8 inches thick.
Why sell you ask? Well we also have another Vette(87 Conv) and a bunch of other cars. We are trying to update to as new a Vette as we can afford before retirement comes, which is soon.
What does it need? Paint touch up, front end alignment due to new front suspension, and maybe a good performance chip (maybe PCM for less).
I will list major parts below:
Body
Shinoda-Mears Kit $2495
European Taillights $299
