Vette(s): 1990 L-98 white/ red/black leather interior targa top auto
1975 L48 blue/black leather interior t tops auto
you may have copied the number wrong. 1G1YY218DJ5. the D maybe a zero. J is the model year (1988). i am pretty sure there should be 4 numbers in between the y and the j
the dynamic duo

Vette(s): 1985 Coupe-L98/Auto,Bright Red/Carmine.
1974 Coupe-L48/4speed, Medium Red Metallic/Black Deluxe.
The 9th digit D is a "check" digit, and it varies...it really means nothing to us. The normal VIN sequence is: 1G1YY2182J5100001
The 6th digit is for coupe/convertible, with the coupe having a 2, and the converts having a 6.
Perhaps your reading the D incorrect, as Dave suggests...look closely...it prolly is a 0.

Vette(s): 87 Red Coupe, not as pretty, had 213G miles, great running engine; got 20-21 around town, 27-28 on hwy; I got to drive a Vette, every day for 6 yrs. It was my first; so now I know what the fuss is all about. (Sold it 2015 for $3000, still ran great.)
This is why this forum is so good, you guys know more Jack than Jack ever dreamed of knowing....
