Topic: Fuel Starvation Problem (Continuation)

Problem as first Listed in July
Problem first occurred while at Freeway speed (65mph)
Loss of power and stalling, almost like I had run out of gas.
Pulling over I restarted and had a normal response to acceleration, this lasted for about a mile and then the problem of stalling returned.
Pulling off the Freeway I was able to nurse the car home by restarting every mile or so, then the stalling problem would return, a restart would get it going again for a limited time.
I think this problem is a fuel starvation problem, but I'm not sure where to start, Fuel Pump, Fuel filter, injectors, or should I be looking for an Electrical problem?
Has anyone seen this problem before?
Since that listing received many excellent idea's but nothing has worked, here is what I have Tried so far:
1 Checked fuel pressure (all normal)
2 Changed In-Line Fuel Filter
3 Changed Complete In-tank Fuel Pump & Sender Unit, including Pulsator. Drained and added more fuel.
4 Installed new Plugs, Wires, and Distributor Cap.
Currently the problem is:
Car will start and run normally for 4 to 5 minutes. Then the throttle won't allow you to go above idle ( you can't rev the engine without stalling ) then it quits. When you try to restart it fires and then immediatly dies.
I keep trying to restart until it finally starts 10 or more tries later. 4 to 5 minutes later the same stalling.
I've checked the computer codes and receive a 12 code for no problem found.
I don't believe it's the injectors as it doesn't seem like I'm losing 1 cylinder.
Is there a Sensor somewhere that could be turning off fuel???
Not really sure what to try next.

have you tried replacing the ignition module. years ago if they went that was it. it seems after some point they made them that they would return to normal (after cooling, e.g) and would mess up when you would run the car. just a thought.

I think theres a fuel pump relay. also wouldn't the ecm through a code 42,44 lean condition if the engine is running out of fuel. i would check for a fuel pump relay. i have sean this before my buddies 1994 vette did the same thing. he took it to the dealer and they said it was a bad injector on the left bank. i think it was number 3 cly. they replaced it. runs great, let us know what you find.
Problem finally solved.
Turned out to be an Idle Air Control Valve and 4 Bad Fuel Injectors.
Thank You J&D Corvette in Bellflower Calif. for the Great work in locating this multiple problem.
Prior to turning this problem over to the experts at J&D I went through the following.
Replaced Fuel Filter
Replaced Fuel Pump
Replaced EGR Valve
Replaced Plugs and Wires
Replaced Distributor cap and Coil
Replaced fuel Relay
Replaced Knock sensor
Replaced Pressure Regulator
Replaced the Computer with a rebuild (Pure desperation at this time)
I did half the work myself and then turned it over to a local mechanic who screwed it up worse, kept it for several months and eventually was fired. I had to reassemble the car and then locate a qualified mechanic. After having it towed to J&D they corrected all of the problems created by the local Mechanic, located the problem and had the car back to me in 3 days. Thanks Again J&D
I want to thank everyone who gave me different suggestions on what to try, and if someone has a fuel starvation problem send them my way, lots of experience now. Also if you happen to be needing a mechanic in Lomita Calif. email me for one you should stay away from.

Glad they got it rung out, Mike! So it wound up being infectors, after all. Dang the luck. Hope they didn't hit you too hard on the pocketbook, but it sound like you are satisfied with them. I've heard a lot of good things about that shop.
