I bought a 92 red coupe in August of 2009 with 7600 miles on it. To
say the car is perfect would almost be an understatement. There is
however one issue that I have been dealing with since I bought the
car. I have this annoying knocking noise that you can only hear from
inside the car. Vaughn has been a great help in getting me the
available info on the cause and has sent me a copy of the GM service
bulletin that deals with issue and the part numbers needed to fix it.
I have started a search for the parts and so far have hit a bunch of
dead ends. The GM part numbers are 102827 (fuel line insulator stud
assy), 2526629 (clip (2)), and the nuts I won't worry about. Has
anyone out there got a source for these parts or have a picture of what
they look like or the materials they are made out of. If I had a
better picture and/or what the materials were, I could make up my own
fix. I appreciate any help I can get.

Here's a copy (2 posts/pages)---even if the dealer has never heard of the bulletin--you may be able to use the part #s to order the pieces if they are available or create your own "fix" the idea is to keep the fuel lines from making solid contact w/evap housing and transferring the noise inside the car. .....once again hope this helps and Good Luck

Sorry, I missed the part number on the fuel line insulator assy. The correct part no. is 10218527. Sorry about that.

I'd try calling Volunteer Vette Products. Maybe they can cross reference the part numbers which don't show up at all on GM Parts Warehouse or GM Parts Direct. Or see if the local stealership can access a picture/part description, they may have a new number.
Thanks Jimmy, I'll try that. I did call the local (biggest dealership) and they didn't have the parts and said they were both discontinued and not available. I have a local salvage yard that is very big in GM stuff that I am also going to try. Thanks again for the replay

Check with "thepartsladi" on e-bay. They have tons of NOS/discontinued GM parts. It's worth a shot.

I would imagine some of the "online" Corvette specialty salvage yards will be your best bet. GM would have made the "fix" in production from late 92 thru the end run of the 96 model--I would suspect all the LTx engines would have the "fix" installed.------OR I would try taking the fuel lines loose from the evap housing and use 2 short pieces of vacuum line with the inner diameter close to the size of youir steel fuel lines--cut them length wise---and slip the hoses around the fuel lines. the idea being to keep the lines from touching the evap housing---the rubber hoses would then become your "insulator".
